Using FLORA, a wearable electronic motion sensor she created, Becky Stern is lighting up the face of fashion. With a circuit, some conductive thread, a few other supplies, and a modicum of sewing talent, Stern can teach anyone to turn a skirt into a sparkly statement. Plot out where you want to place your pixels and you're off.
Coined as "electric bedazzling," the premise can be modified for just about any article of clothing you can imagine. Patterned tights, raincoats, hats, and belt buckles are all fair game. If your LED clothes get dirty, the battery can be removed for easy washing by hand (or, let's be real, on the gentle cycle).
